Before coming to the Bar, Christian practised as a solicitor in Hobart, routinely appearing as counsel. He has appeared in proceedings in the Supreme Court of Tasmania, the Federal Court of Australia, and Tasmanian tribunals.
Christian has significant experience in motor accident and statutory insurance matters, professional discipline and regulatory matters, institutional abuse claims, estate and family provision claims, property disputes and general commercial disputes.
In March 2025, Christian was appointed as a sessional member of the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and regularly sits in the Protective Division of the Tribunal. He remains available to take briefs in the General Division of the Tribunal including personal compensation, resource and planning, and occupational and disciplinary matters.
Christian holds a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania. He has been a Kingborough Councillor since October 2018. Since 2022 he has been a director of Huon Regional Care.
