Justin has over 25 years of legal experience, as solicitor (1997–2005), partner (2006–2012), and counsel (2013 onwards). He has been head of chambers at Malthouse Chambers since August 2023.
With chambers in both Hobart and Sydney Justin has developed a broad practice, with a specific focus on the following areas:

• Workplace health and safety (as defence counsel)
• Inquests and Commission of Inquiry
• Commercial Litigation
• Common Law / Personal Injury
• Public / Administrative Law
• Criminal Law
Justin regularly appears and advises in both public and private sector matters on behalf of employers, employees, and workplace regulators. He is also regularly briefed to appear in coronial and commission of inquiry matters on behalf of various private and government organisations and senior public officials.
Justin is a member of the Federal Court of Australia’s Employment and Industrial Relations User Group. He has served as a member of the Tasmanian Bar Council and continues to be involved in the Advocacy Unit of the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course, having taught at the University of Tasmania in both the Bachelor of Laws Program and the post-graduate Legal Practice Course, for a number of years. Justin has also completed a Master of Labour Relations Law from the University of Melbourne.
In 2024 Justin completed a Professional Certificate in Arbitration from the University of Adelaide and accepts appointments as an arbitrator.
