Michael has been in practice since 1984. He commenced as a legal practitioner with the Crown Solicitor’s Office, before moving to Dobson Mitchell & Allport in 1986. He commenced practice as a barrister at Malthouse Chambers in 2002 and took silk in 2009. He was appointed Solicitor-General of Tasmanian in 2014, an office which he held until December 2021.
He is presently a member of the Board of Legal Education.
