Scott attained a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at Deakin University in 2011 before commencing his legal career in 2013 at Thomson Geer Lawyers (formerly Herbert Geer Lawyers) where he acted for the Victorian WorkCover Authority and the Country Fire Authority.
Before coming to the Bar, Scott was Senior Legal Counsel at Macil Global providing specialised investigation services to private, corporate, insurance and government clients. Prior to that, he was a Senior Associate at Russell Kennedy Lawyers representing the Victorian WorkCover Authority and its authorised insurers in a variety of workers compensation and common law disputes. He also worked as a Liability Specialist for Employers Mutual Limited (EML), determining workers compensation claims.
Scott has extensive experience instructing in the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, County Court and Magistrates Court, and has litigated matters ranging from Magistrate Court workers compensation disputes to common law trials before a jury in the Supreme Court.
Having determined, investigated and litigated workers compensation disputes, Scott has acquired a comprehensive understanding of the workers compensation process from the inception of a claim to the final determination of a dispute in court.
Outside of the law, Scott enjoys surfing, hiking, camping and lifting weights.
